The imposing shantaks are far more intelligent than their bestial appearance would suggest. They can speak, though their voices sound like glass grinding on stone, and they can't converse in any language besides Aklo. Abilities

No Breath — The shantak doesn't breathe and is immune to effects that require breathing (such as an inhaled poison).
Slippery — The shantak's scales are covered in slippery slime, so the shantak gains a +3 circumstance bonus to Escape.

A creature mounted on a shantak takes double the normal circumstance penalty to Reflex saves (-4 instead of -2 in most cases) while mounted.
Flying Strafe — The shantak Flies up to their fly speed and makes two claw Strikes at any point during that movement. Each Strike must target a different creature. The attacks take the normal multiple attack penalty.

WORKS WELL WITH

WeaverLANDA Weaver's area control funnels enemies into clumps that maximize the Shantak's Flying Strafe multi-target potential.
AnvilLANDAn Anvil absorbs retaliation on the ground while the Shantak makes strafing passes without becoming the enemy's primary focus.
SniperLAND / AERIALWhile Shantak harasses from the air, a Sniper exploits the distraction for clean shots at diverted targets.

PUNISHES

✖ clumping✖ melee reliance✖ standing still
